Requires Java LoaderThe Country We Keep: an escape-and-rebuilding campaign for Project Zomboid. Faded Field Operations owns the story, missions, choices and campaign records, and uses Echoes of Humanity for the living survivors, factions, travel, treatment and settlement services around them.
A full campaign
36 central chapters, ten faction arcs and eight institutional stories, moving from attempted evacuation to local recovery, laws and rebuilding.
Refuge and rebuilding
Refuge recovery with twenty-two installable improvements, local laws, research and prolonged care, and a recovery-office charter.
The Roads Back
Nineteen expedition regions with daily routes, voluntary parties, real departures and returns, dangers and loss consequences.
Work and careers
Field service work orders, a career roster with promotions, credential tracks, procedural commissions and reactive dispatches.
Living world
Civilian scenes with physical aftermaths, radio emergencies, warned air strikes, the FFO-built bunker and vehicle custody in A Place in the Yard.
Money and records
Physical cash and optional Faded Trade Network credits, a host-editable Work Register, and mission items that auto-favorite with a dark periwinkle marker.
What's new in 2.0.8
- Build 42.22 (2.0.8) — Java plugin support for Project Zomboid Build 42.22.
- Crafting returns — all original crafting return values are preserved, and quest activity tracking keeps working.
- Packet-flood repair (2.0.6) — DeadStash resonance sync on clothing changes is coalesced to at most one request per second, easing stuck timed actions on dedicated servers.
- 42.21 formatting (2.0.5) — literal-percent sandbox labels display correctly on 42.21, and reserved trailer interiors get their zone manifest.
Getting started
- Enable Echoes of Humanity, FadedJavaLoaderBridge and Faded Field Operations.
- Open the campaign journal. The shortcut defaults to K, and existing saved bindings are kept.
- Don't enable competing quest or NPC runtimes alongside the combined campaign.
Requirements
Project Zomboid Build 42.20.4 (Java core also loads on 42.21). Requires Echoes of Humanity 0.17.4+ and Faded Java Loader 0.5.0+ with the Bridge companion on client and server. Servers and clients need matching FFO and Echoes packages.
