Common Sense Reborn
The Build 42 quality-of-life mega-mod. Common Sense Reborn brings back the little things survival should have had all along: better entry tools, food and repair actions, smarter inventory and HUD, vehicle extras and server tools, with hundreds of sandbox settings.
Tools and entry
Crowbar prying, screwdriver, paperclip and card lockpicking, bolt cutters, vehicle pry, lockpick and hotwire, Un-Hotwire, quick barricades, city standpipes and buildable ladders.
Food and survival
Hydration Sense, bathing and towel drying, home canning and jar capping, alternate can opening, field dressing, sleeping anywhere and hiding in furniture.
Inventory and HUD
Utility HUD, CSR radial, loot filter, proximity loot tab, nested containers, Tear All, item rename, equipment panel, mask slot and status bar.
Vehicles
Seatbelts, smart key labels, dashboard clock, EV conversion, rope and chain towing, corpse trunk, salvage and vehicle claims.
Combat and medical
Fist combat, dual-wield follow-up strikes, bullet penetration, speed reload, antibodies, and better bandage, disinfect and staple flows.
Server and social
Unified claims manager, faction and safehouse controls, padlocks, audit tools, Server Rankings, Rally Points and notice boards.
What's new in 2.1.0
- Server handbook — an admin-configurable Welcome, Rules and Lore handbook.
- Hang On climbing — complete Hang On multiplayer climbing with the CSR UI.
- Dual pistols and apartments — improved dual pistols and exact-floor apartment claims. Multiplayer apartment protection needs the bundled optional Faded Java Loader plugin.
- Earlier fixes (2.0.21-2.0.25) — item-card cleanup, carried-key lists and animal-feeder menus, lighter work while driving, and a repaired integrated Armor Makes Sense for 42.21.
Requirements
Project Zomboid Build 42.21.0 (2.1.0 is designed for 42.21.0). No required dependencies; multiplayer apartment protection uses the bundled optional Faded Java Loader plugin; single-player and multiplayer. Distributed through the Faded Local Mod Installer, not Steam Workshop. Never enable the production mod and the test mod (CommonSenseRebornTest) together. Faded's ClearView UI is an optional companion; CSR works fully without it.
